Ryan & Company Welcomes John Walter.
Dallas, Texas -- Ryan & Company announced today that John Walter has joined Ryan & Company
as Principal in Charge of the Atlanta, Georgia office. Prior to joining Ryan & Company, Mr. Walter
was a Partner with a major national accounting firm, with responsibility for developing specific product and service
market plans consistent with the strategic plan of the Multistate Tax practice. In addition,
Mr. Walter was formerly the sales and use tax practice leader for another Big 4 firm’s Midwest
tax practice, where he was responsible for monitoring and analyzing specific judicial, legislative,
and administrative issues.
Prior to his work with the major national accounting firm, Mr. Walter served as senior auditor
for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts,
the Michigan Department of Treasury, and the Multistate Tax Commission. His responsibilities
included the performance of sales and use tax, Texas franchise tax, and Michigan single business
tax audits on corporations in various industries. He was also a senior tax consultant for a national
tax firm.
Mr. Walter is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation,
the Equipment Leasing Association, and the American Trucking Association. John received his
Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and completed the Accounting
Certification program at Northwestern University.
